ITSA will supply sidewall panels for RRX

ITSA has been awarded a contract by Siemens covering the design, manufacturing and delivery of complete sidewall panels, along with the supply of spare parts for the new trains Rhine-Ruhr Express (RRX), the largest regional rail transport order ever won by Siemens in Germany.

Siemens is going to supply a total of 85 Desiro HC electric multiple units, including newly developed high-capacity, double-decker trains from the proven Desiro family.

The six-route Rhein Ruhr Express (RRX) network will connect the major cities of the region and help ease the steadily worsening traffic conditions along the Rhine and Ruhr. The first double-decker RRX-trains will enter service by late 2018 and operate in the area at speeds up to 160 km/h.

This project confirms the good collaboration between between Siemens and ITSA, and validates the expertise of ITSA as reference supplier of composites technologies.
